Re: Recommended shows not appearing, MVernon? |
If Cliff's attitude is basically, "Only way to please me, just get down and leave and walk away," I find this to be antithetical to the communal aspirations of Deadheads, where we should support other Deadheads in their sincere efforts to furthur the experience of the music. The matrix format is a legitimate and accepted means of doing this, and I have striven to make only the highest quality matrixes. Because I have had, at least initially, great respect for Cliff Hucker and his contributions to this community, this blatant aggression on his part has left me feeling downtrodden by one of the best and brightest, as it were. The gracious support of other Deadheads, though, like William Tell, has helped heal these wounds of "boot-heels in the face" and made me feel there still is hope after all for this community at LMA. Anyway, I just don't see how Cliff's actions are in alignment with the true Dead spirit, and that worries me more than it should.

Hunter, many of us have experienced Cliff's "boot heel to the face" for one reason or another. And though it is true that Cliff may be "one of the best and brightest, as it were", he can be one of the most cantankerous as well. As stated by Sir William, the work done by you and many others is greatly appreciated. Sadly you can't possibly please everyone, and often it is the "displeased" who are vociferous.

Re: Recommended shows not appearing, MVernon? |
I hear you...Though CLIFF and I bonded some yrs ago over the early era shows, we do differ a bit with respect to proper posting protocol if you will (though I am sure many view me as a snobbish, know-it-all scientist hijacking the board to discuss inappropriate topics, so we all have our faults). I also squirm at his "extreme approach to criticism" for matrx shows, and latter era DEAD in general, feeling like you, that even if it's not for me, there are plenty here that like and enjoy those yrs, AND the kind of shows you make...so, again FWIW, I'd take those many good compliments you rec' to the bank, and as Bill (UUnk) mentioned, just accept he's (CLIFF) not going to be satisfied...
Hang in there, and keep up the good work; I bet SDH, BD#2, CCity and a few others will just love to stream this show ASAP.

You obviously do not know the magnitude of the "free space" in my head..."billions and billions of cubic cm" comes to mind (cue "Sagan voiceover" there...).
